NUTRITION TIPS

Preferably choose water, unsweetened milk or buttermilk.

3-4 glasses of milk and 1-2 slices of low-fat cheese per day.

Drink water or milk after eating a cookie.

Syrup (medication) is not tooth friendly. Rinse after by drinking water.

Chewing on a piece of hard fruit promotes saliva secretion.

Especially citrus fruits contain acids, but also soft drinks and fruit juices, daily consumption of these greatly increases the risk of erosion.

Digestible carbohydrates are the main energy source of the bacteria in dental plaque. The plaque bacteria convert them into acids. This gives rise to acidosis (a so-called pH drop that is responsible for causing the minerals in your teeth to dissolve and thus cause cavities). It is important to limit the number of acid bumps. You do this by not eating more than 5 times a day.

Wait at least half an hour to an hour after eating or drinking acidic foods before brushing your teeth. Otherwise, this can promote tooth erosion.

Dried and pickled fruits are best eaten during or immediately after meals.

Toothfriendly chewing gum with xylitol can be used, but in moderation!
